Recent research has made a bold claim: prolonged social isolation and loneliness are equivalent to smoking three-quarters of a pack of cigarettes daily. Being part of a community is essential for health and well-being. It provides a sense of belonging and connection, reduces stress, and increases happiness and physical health. It also has a positive effect on mental health, offering comfort, support, and self-esteem while reducing loneliness and providing a sense of purpose.
I spoke with Larissa, Co-Founder, and CEO of Coteria (www.activecoterie.com). Larissa saw an opportunity to build a solution for the growing number of women looking for a community based on sports. Coterie is creating an online community hub to empower women by making sports more accessible through technology. If you’re interested in learning more about Larissa’s journey to starting a company and how Coterie is tackling community building, find the links to the episode below!

What if you could analyze hundreds, if not thousands, of articles almost instantly? What if you could use that data to make better investment decisions? That is the goal of Babbl, a startup that uses Natural Language Processing (NLP) to digest the vast amount of information online and turn it into actionable investment insights. NLP is a popular tool for investors, allowing them to quickly and accurately analyze data for valuable insights. Machine learning algorithms help identify patterns and trends, enabling investors to make informed decisions for better returns and reduced risk. As technology advances, NLP will become an even more powerful tool for beating the market.
I recently had the opportunity to speak with Sam Cartford, CTO and Co-Founder of Babbl. Their startup is striving to provide investors with AI stock market news and social media monitoring tools to help them find market-moving news 100x faster.

My name is Adam Choe, and this is my channel. I'm an investor, recovering entrepreneur, former managing director of a startup accelerator, an adjunct professor, a former research fellow, and a curious learner testing the theories of everyday life one theory at a time. This channel is dedicated to talking about all things entrepreneurship, investing, relevant current events, and other random topics that I think could be interesting or helpful to talk about. I'm a first-generation Asian-American, and my family came from South Korea 40+ years ago. Just trying to figure out this game called life one day at a time. Thanks for checking out the channel.
